PSO Senior Project Manager (UAE) - VMware - Dubai

Responsibilities:

• Manage and successfully drive multiple concurrent projects and work streams with competing demands across stakeholders, partners, and customers.


• Identify, organize, and manage project activities


• Develop project plans, including project scope, level of effort, project timelines, critical dependencies, and deliverables that are concise and achievable.


• Manage projects to specified objectives, deadlines and deliverables using either waterfall or Agile project methodologies.


• Provide weekly status reports to stakeholders and conduct regular team meetings in accordance with the frequency demanded by the project timeline in order to ensure widespread expectation alignment amongst stakeholders.


• Escalate project issues that impact deadlines and present remediation alternatives to appropriate managers in a timely manner to mitigate risk.


• Build highly collaborative, synergistic teams through excellent communication and strong team building


• Help to document best practices in developing and deploying VMware solutions


• Liaise with necessary teams within VMware to achieve above items

Requirements:

• At least 8 years experience in customer-facing positions in a professional services firm, preferably with an IT software, management consulting, or “Big 5” consulting organization


• At least 2 years experience managing complex projects involving deployment of VMware virtualization products such as ESX, vCenter, Lab Manager, View. Experience managing Cloud infrastructure projects a real plus.


• At least 4 years of Project Management experience, including Waterfall and Agile methodologies


• Experience with modern services deployment methodologies, with strong emphasis on installation, configuration, and integration of complex software solutions into IT infrastructure, custom software development, software and hardware architecture, and infrastructure design and development


• Experience with operational analysis/process optimization projects related to IT systems management and IT service management (ITSM/ITIL processes) a real plus.


• Proven track record of planning and managing large, multi-person billable programs for external customers


• Use of formal project management tools (e.g., MS-Project, Visio, Rally etc.)


• Strong analytical skills regarding technical and project management issues


• Strong organizational skills and a “service first” mindset, with an ability to manage competing stakeholder demands and expectations


• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with CxO-level personnel and navigate customer organizations to ensure successful project delivery and acceptance


• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills


• Demonstrated ability to document methodologies, proposals, and best practices as guides to other consultants


• B.S./B.A./M.S. degree or equivalent technical training


• PMP and/or Scrum Master certification desired


• Ability to travel 30%+, including internationally occasionally.
