Project Manager - Downstream Technology Solutions (DTS) - GE Oil & Gas - Jebel Ali

The Oil and Gas Downstream Technology Solutions Project Installation Manager is responsible for managing

the contract fulfilment, project execution and customer interface from the ITO/OTR Hand-off to the end of Warranty phase.

The role will involve project management of projects primarily involving DTS products (GTs, RCs, CCs, STs, and Pumps, Valves, Systems).

Essential Responsibilities

Responsible for the Project Management and Execution of Shop, installation, and warranty for DTS team, in terms of the main contractual obligations’ – Compliance with Contract scope of supply and agreed Technical Requirements, on time delivery and quality. The PM will also ensure the achievement or improvement of the Project profitability along with management of Warranty Claims until COD of the project.

He/she is the main interface between the Customer and GE O&G with great visibility inside and outside the Company, among the above responsibilities; he/she will mainly focus on:


•Execution of DTS Shop and Installation projects in MENAT Region, with full responsibilities of matching contracts requirements, scope of supply, quality, and deliveries.

•Primary responsibility for shop and Installation projects in MEA, and may include Opex, Capex, and

Contractual Services as needed

•Develop strong business relationship with MEA and build a solid customer’s trust

• Portfolio coordination for different DTS product companies.

• Responsible for cash collection, disputes resolution, and customer management for assigned projects and portfolios.

•Play a proactive role in problem prevention during the project life cycle

•Develop and maintain a detailed project schedules considering availability of internal resources,

project progress updates, and project integration requirements from customers and third-parties

•Coordinate project input requirements, engineering evaluations and customer reviews of project

deliverables consistent with project schedule and budget requirements

•Manage project risk and planning for project contingencies

•Manage project cost and project margin, including project forecasting and project reporting

requirements

•Manage project scope, including the preparation of project change requests to address changed

or emergent scope

•Lead on-site customer kick-off meetings, project status meetings, GE site visits, customer project

reviews and customer projects audits

•Assess customer satisfaction and GE performance, including recommendations for corrective and

preventive actions

•Ensure timely cash collections on all projects, coordinate with Finance and Collections group,

meet with customers to drive on time payments

•Coordinate disposition of all non-conformances to contract requirements and resolve problems

during the warranty period

•Coordinate warranty claims and resolve issues working with Quality and Engineering

•Lead negotiation with Customers and Functions in order to ensure full compliance with contract

commitments and commercial risk assessment

•Key Metrics: Sales, CM, Cash, Past Dues, On-Time Delivery, Customer Satisfaction


Qualifications/Requirements

•BS Engineering – Mechanical preferred

•Fluent in English, Italian / French knowledge is a plus

•Contractual and Financial knowledge

Certified PMP

Knowledge on GE Gas Turbines, Compressors, Steam Turbines, Pumps, Systems

MBA is a plus

•Good knowledge of GE O&G’s products and solutions

•Ability to travel within MENAT and Europe

•Customer Centric mindset, able to deal with complex Customers and meet specific requirements

when needed. Intellectual rigor and professional discipline while running the Project

•Excellent influencing skills working with internal functions (Com Ops, Sales, Finance, Fulfillment,

Quality)

•Inclusive Leader, comfortable in front of customers and able to assess situations quickly with solid

decision making skills


Desired Characteristics

•Project management experience in O&G Industry.

•Project shop and Installation management experience in O&G Industry

•Construction management experience.

•Field engineering experience.

•Contract management experience.

•High energy level – self-starter.

•Technical knowledge of product lines and associated systems.

•Six Sigma training (GE employees only).

•Sense of urgency in dealing with issues and tasks.

•Ability to anticipate events and develop adaptive strategies / remedies.

•Strong skills in customer relationship building, facilitation, and matrix management
